Waterproof tvs for sauna

It’s a well-known fact that both a bathhouse or a swimming pool are inseparably connected with high humidity, regardless of the size of the room, since in the pool the water constantly circulates and evaporates, and in any bathhouse, be it a Finnish sauna or a Turkish hammam, we ourselves maintain high humidity in the steam room itself. And although the Finnish sauna is considered dry, during the steaming we still add water to the stones, and this increases the humidity in the air, albeit for a short time. In addition, water vapor passes into rest rooms and even into locker rooms. As a rule, the level of moisture content in rooms adjacent to the steam room is about 60-65% if ventilation is done correctly. The same thing happens in a swimming pool, where humidity should not exceed 60%, but in practice this figure is higher, since in such a room it is difficult to create a microclimate (water temperature is 1-2 degrees lower than air temperature) that can minimize water evaporation from the surface. It is precisely because of high humidity that a TV for a bath, sauna or swimming pool must be moisture resistant.

Another reason to choose a waterproof TV for a sauna is accidental contact of such a device with water. Splashes of water in a bathhouse or sauna are inevitable, and a regular household TV is not suitable for such use: random drops of water that get inside the TV body can damage it.

It is also worth paying attention to protection from elevated temperatures if you are going to install the TV in the steam room of a bathhouse or sauna. Of course, it is best to choose a place for installation in the relaxation room, but you can also do this in the steam room. To do this, be sure to study the manufacturer’s recommendations on temperature conditions for using the device.

Waterproof TVs for baths from AVEL have a degree of protection IPx4, that is, they are protected from splashing water in any direction when installed on a VESA mount. If you build a moisture-resistant TV for a bath into the wall, then the protection increases significantly, since the front panel of the TV is made of tempered glass. Our TVs can be safely installed in any wet room, be it a swimming pool, a washroom or a regular bathroom.

AVEL TVs for saunas

If we talk about moisture-resistant AVEL TVs, we recommend installing them in a steam room only with additional forced ventilation of the TV case, which will be built into the wall. You cannot simply hang the device on the VESA mounts in the steam room, since at temperatures above 50°C the TV’s automation will work and it will turn off if it overheats.

The ideal solution for any damp room is to install a TV in the wall. Installation is carried out using a special box, which is included in the package of this product.

Let us remind you that to install the TV in the steam room of a bath or sauna, it is necessary to additionally organize heat removal from the body in order to avoid overheating of the internal parts of the TV.

When setting up AVEL televisions in a sauna, it is advisable to implement natural ventilation, as it illustrated in the picture. Proper cooling of the back panel and effective heat dissipation from the operating TV can prolong its lifespan and guarantee reliable operation for many years. Laboratory tests have shown that the televisions can operate at temperatures up to 80 degrees Celsius (temporarily reaching up to 100 degrees), but, like all electronic devices, the primary components of the television and the Smart TV board perform optimally and last longer under moderate temperature conditions.

Test of the AVEL built-in Waterproof TVs at High Temperatures

The testing of AVEL's waterproof televisions was carried out in stages at a specialized laboratory to establish their maximum operational temperature and identify the point at which problems occur.

The certificate obtained verifies that the television can function at 60°C for prolonged periods, making it appropriate for saunas with temperatures between 60 and 80°C.

TV in Sauna Steam Room. Waterproof IPX4 Test

In this video, we will showcase how our line of built-in televisions has effectively undergone moisture protection testing. AVEL televisions have received certification in accordance with international standards.

The testing takes place in a specialized laboratory where water is sprayed using advanced equipment. During the evaluation, a water flow rate of 10 liters per minute is applied at pressures ranging from 50 to 150 kPa from different angles, all while the television is in operation.

Following the completion of all testing procedures, we obtain an international certification document that verifies our televisions comply with the N60 529 standard. This certification signifies that the products have successfully met safety class testing requirements under external conditions, specifically according to the IPX4 standard.
